Join Seattle-based artist Talha Baig for a personalized watercolor workshop atop a viewpoint overlooking one of the Pacific Northwest’s most beloved sites–Snow Lake. Artist Talha will offer group-based and personalized instruction so that you can:

  • Learn the basics of watercolor (wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and dry-dry techniques)

Previous Programs

  • E-Biking the Balkans with Surah Al-Kahf

    Albania and North Macedonia

The first few hours of our trip together was indicative of our 9-day Balkan adventure...a surprise home cooked meal from an Albanian Grandmother, stunning mountain views, and unmatched hospitality from the gas pump attendant to the family-run hotel owner welcoming us to Borove with a fresh lamb shank feast. We filled our days with peddling to places where we recited Surah al-Kahf…a cave, a farm field, a nearby lake, a mountain pass.

  • Fitrah Farm Stay: From Soul to Soil

    Pescadero, California

Chefs, gardeners, naturalists, and poets gathered to care for our group of 45 souls and share their gifts. We dropped our phones in the lockbox for the weekend. We prayed Jumuah as the Prophet, peace be upon him, did so many times—outside, with his companions at his side…

  • The Seerah and Our Senses @ Seward Park

    Seattle, Washington

We gathered in the afternoon autumn light in Seattle’s Seward Park—originally a Duwamish seasonal fishing village. Amidst Douglas Fir and Big Leaf Maples, our grounding activity considered how we can learn from the area’s original caretakers to connect with all creation around us and “re-indiginize“ ourselves to this place, regardless of where we’re “from.”…

  • Sowing Seeds of Shukr @ Olive Branch Ranch

    Rochester, Washington

Our gathering alone defied the expectations of what resistance has to be. Palestinian solidarity on a May Saturday afternoon looked like tending to olive trees, sharing a fresh lamb picnic, and witnessing what saving seeds from an ancestral Levantine village means a multi-generation Palestinian farming family…

  • Sisters' Alpine Horseback Riding

    Leavenworth, Washington

After driving over mountain passes and seeing the remaining snow patches atop high peaks, our group of ladies arrived at Wild at Heart Horse Rides in the foothills of the Cascade Range. As we nourished our bodies over deli sandwiches and a perfect light breeze, trip guide and Equestrian Safa Peera opened up about what horseback riding means to her.
