Sisters Alpine Horseback Riding in Leavenworth, WA

Sisters Alpine Horseback Riding, Leavenworth WA

June 15, 2025

Trip Price: $150

Description

Sisters Alpine Horseback Riding is a one-of-a-kind, day-long experience for Muslim women set in the stunning alpine surroundings of Leavenworth, Washington. With snow-capped peaks, winding forest trails, and rushing mountain creeks as our backdrop, this unique journey brings together outdoor adventure, deep spiritual reflection, and meaningful sisterhood.

We will explore the natural beauty of the Cascade Mountains on a 2 hour horse ride, guided by our instructor Safa Peera and supported by gentle, well-trained horses. This journey invites us to reflect on the deep connection between humans and horses as described in our tradition. As we ride through the mountains, we’ll center ourselves with the du'a for riding, remembering that horses are a source of both beauty and blessing. Inspired by the Prophet's words, "There is goodness in the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection" and the Qur'anic reminder in Surah An-Nahl that Allah created them for both function and beauty, we’ll explore what it means to move through nature with gratitude, presence, and purpose.

Whether you are a first-time rider or have some experience in the saddle, this day is designed to be accessible, enriching, and restorative. You will enjoy time for prayer, shared reflection, and heartfelt connection in a breathtaking natural setting.

After the horse ride, in line with our commitment to gratitude and giving back, be prepared to get your hands dirty mucking stalls and cleaning leather saddles with the ranch owner. This is an opportunity to give back to the space and animals that support our journey.

Come for the ride, stay for the stillness, the beauty, and the bonds built along the trail.

What do you mean by “digitally disconnecting”?

Fitrah Outdoors’ Digital Disconnect & Fitrah Reconnect Policy applies to all programs, and is offered as a unique opportunity to build connection, both inwardly and outwardly, with other people, other creations, and to regenerate one’s own fitrah. Throughout the trip, Fitrah Outdoors program staff will be taking a plethora of high quality individual, group, and scenery photos (and a few short videos), and will share with the group. This allows participants to center their attention on each moment.

We understand that this can seem strange or even scary for participants. In our experience, it is often those who are initially the most skeptical of the Digital Disconnect & Fitrah Reconnect policy who end up being the most appreciative for their experience at the end of the program. Nisa, a participant from the Fitrah Farm Stay Program in Pescadero, California, recently commented: "Fitrah Outdoors’ carefully curated experience allowed us to unplug from the noise of daily life and truly connect to our primordial self. We were fueled by nutrient dense meals, mindful practices, and the reset to my system was felt for months afterwards."
