Fitrah, an Arabic word, is the natural, primordial state that inclines humans toward Divine Remembrance, goodness, and love.

Humans enter the world in a perfect state of fitrah, but fluctuate in their nearness to it based on a variety of environmental factors.

Islamic scholars identify fitrah as an essential condition for advancing on the spiritual path, and point to nature and traditional cultures as important gateways for reentering or strengthening it.
